Chairman of the Board
Since joining GMI in 1969, Mr. Grady has worked in virtually every division of the company, gaining a broad, hands-on perspective and expertise. He began his property management career assisting managers of multi-family residential communities while in high school and throughout college. In 1972, he was promoted to Resident Manager of a 783 unit garden apartment community. Two years later, he was promoted to Property Manager and assigned to GMI's main office. In 1975, Mr. Grady was named Condominium Coordinator. He was appointed Assistant Vice President of the Rental Division in 1978, promoted to Vice President in 1980, and in 1988 was appointed President. Mr. Grady was appointed Chairman of the Board in 1998.
Gary L. Campbell
Mr. Campbell has a Bachelors degree in Administration from Western Illinois University. Prior to joining GMI in 1981, he was the Regional Property Manager for Charles E. Smith Co. where he was responsible for 1,200 residential and commercial units and assisted in pre-construction of a new condominium complex. Previously, he was an officer of Gulf Oil Real Estate Development Corporation for five years. His duties encompassed the management of nine Condominium associations along with several resort operational divisions in Florida. He was named Assistant Vice President at GMI in 1983 and was appointed Vice President, Rental Division in 1989. In 1996, he was named Executive Vice President and in 1998, Mr. Campbell was appointed President.
Brian S. Alford
Vice President, Rental Division
Mr. Alford has a Bachelors degree in Property Management from Virginia Tech University. Prior to joining GMI as Assistant Vice President, Rental Division in 2007, he was a Regional Asset Manager for SunAmerican Affordable Housing Partners where he was responsible for overseeing the financial performance of a portfolio of 15,000 units while ensuring compliance of the tax credit stream on each property. Previously, he was a Regional Property Manager with Kettler Management as well as Archstone-Smith, overseeing affordable housing and conventional market rate apartments. He has accorded the designation of Certified Property Manager (CPM) by the Institute of Real Estate Management and is a member of IREM, and the Property Management Association and he is a Board Member for MAAHMA. Mr. Alford was promoted to Vice President, Rental Division in 2010.
In 2016, Mr. Alford joined the Apartment and Office Building Association of Metropolitan Washington's Board of Directors. Learn more about this distinction here.
