Mr. David Farmer addresses crowd to speak about Grady Management's energy benchmarking.
Grady Management was honored alongside several other companies for energy benchmarking procedures at an awards presentation on September 22.
Mr. David Farmer accepted the award on behalf of Grady Management at the Early Birds Press Event hosted by the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection and the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce. This event honored companies and organizations that reported their building’s energy use before the Benchmarking Law requirements go into effect in 2016 and make it mandatory to report building energy usage.
Benchmarking- the process of measuring the energy use of a building and then comparing that to the average of similar buildings- is an integral process of energy efficient initiatives. Montgomery County was the first county in America to pass a building energy benchmarking and disclosure law.
