What Exactly Is a Service Request?

Whether just moving into an apartment community or enjoying a long-term residency at an apartment building, it is always good to consider what, exactly, constitutes a service request.
What exactly is a service request?
When living in an apartment community, occasionally something in or out of the apartment needs to be repaired or addressed. This can include kitchen appliances like the garbage disposal or microwave, or plumbing issues like clogged drains. Service requests can also encompass things outside of the apartment but still within the community, such as a broken piece of equipment in the community fitness center.
One great aspect of living in an apartment building and/ or community is that residents can contact their management team to complete these service requests.
How can a resident submit a service request?
If a resident notices something is amiss inside the apartment or community, the first step is to immediately report it to onsite management. It is extremely important to not "let things go" or delay in bringing attention to an issue or problem. Ignoring a problem will not make the problem go away. In fact, it could even exacerbate the problem.
Residents often have several options for submitting a service request. One method is to visit the leasing office and let the team know via a conversation.
To submit a service request outside of office hours or when outside of the community, there are several other options. One is a phone call to the leasing office team. Even if the call is made outside of office hours, leave a message providing a brief, but clear, description of the issue and request a return call. Another option is to email the community leasing office team. A third option is to visit the community website and submit a digital service request. Grady Management offers an online service request option for all managed communities.
Communication is key to ensure every resident enjoys their apartment and apartment community.
